Christopher Richardson and Doris Urquhart are both ex-lawyers who bought and sold antiques in London and Lewes for over 25 years. In 2009 they moved to York's Tenement and opened a gallery specialising in folk art and naïve paintings.

Their Suffolk farmhouse was featured in The World of Interiors in September 2012 and in Perfect English Farmhouse by Ros Byam-Shaw, published by Rylands Peters & Small the same year.  Both publications illustrate the antiques that they buy, sell and collect.

Antiques at York's Tenement is a member of The British Antique Dealers' Association to which Doris was elected in 2013.
